Kingston is the largest town in the Kingborough Municipality, located 13 kms south of Hobart. It has been one of Hobart's largest growth areas over the last two or three years. It has a fantastic beach (with adjacent large dog exercise area), two major shopping centres and many other large businesses, six primary and secondary schools, a large sporting complex and a beautiful golf course. Kingston also houses the headquarters of the Australian Antarctic Division. A wide variety of housing styles from older beachside bungalows to the latest 'green' housing estates and large modern homes promoting 'the Aussie dream'.
