Glenorchy borders the northern edges of Hobart and, although overseen by the Glenorchy City Council, it forms part of the greater Hobart area. Features are the Aquatic Leisure Centre, the Royal Hobart Showgrounds, Tattersalls Racecourse, and the Derwent Entertainment Centre (DEC).
